EPISD BOARD ELECTIONS: Two incumbents lead, Wiggs ahead

EPISD’s board of trustees election is underway, early voting results show Russell Wiggs leads race for Place 4.

Place 1 candidates include Bob Geske and Mariah Lauritzen. Place 4 candidates include Timothy W. Groover, Diane M. Dye and Russell Wiggs. Place 5 candidates include Miguel Rueda and Chuck Taylor.

Early voting results show Russell Wiggs leading in Place 4, with Diane Dye following closely behind.

Wiggs who served on EPISD’s board previously, was removed after EPISD’s cheating scandal in 2013.

For Place 1, incumbent Bob Geske leads the race, with Mariah Lauritzen following. Geske was elected to the board of trustees in 2013. He was among four others who were appointed to the board of managers following the controversial cheating scandal.

For Place 5, incumbent Chuck Taylor leads the race.
