Police investigate city’s 12th murder in East El Paso

El Paso police said around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, they received a call about a disturbance inside the Cantera apartment complex located at the 1500 block of Lomaland Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead inside an apartment.

Police said there appeared to be a fight in the apartment but they are working to determine how the man died.

One neighbor told ABC-7 he didn’t hear anything during the night, and didn;t fing out about the murder until the morning.

“Literally, walking down the stairs, we were about to go running in the canyon. I tell my kids ‘Oh look, there’s an RV over here.’ And we go and look and see it’s a police, and that’s,,,just blew my mind. So we had to explain to my kids what that was,” Michael Clark said.

It’s not something that was expected to happen in the complex.

“Very quiet neighborhood, I’ve never had issues. My kids, they come over here, I mean we’ve never had to deal with anything like this, so it surprised me,” Clark said.
