Police looking for man accused of kidnapping, beating girlfriend
Police are looking for a Las Cruces man suspected of beating his girlfriend and holding the woman against her will.
31-year-old Danny Galindo Jr., of the 1300 block of Kilmer Street, is charged with Kidnapping and Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday, May 14, police officers were dispatched to the report of a domestic disturbance on the 5500 block of Patagonia Drive.
Investigators learned a 27-year-old woman and Galindo have been in an “on and off” relationship for several months.
Police say Galindo and his girlfriend went to a couple of parties the previous evening, but didn’t stay long at either one.
As the couple left the second party, Galindo allegedly grabbed the woman’s hair and punched her several times.
Police said the man allegedly threatened to kill the woman and leave her in the desert.
Detectives learned the couple made it back to the woman’s home on Patagonia Drive, where Galindo continued to threaten her.
At the residence, Galindo allegedly struck her again, injuring the left side of her face. He’s also suspected of blocking a bedroom door and, for approximately two hours, refusing to allow the woman to leave.
The woman sought help when Galindo left the residence, police said.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Galindo.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police immediately at (575) 526-0795.
