12-year-old girl dominates opponent twice her age in MMA debut

In a fight that divided the MMA community, Momo, 12, easily won, via a first round rear-naked choke at Deep Jewels 16.

After taking some early blows to her head from her bigger opponent, the 150cm pocket rocket took her opponents back and demonstrated her superior skill to finish the fight with the submission.

As per amateur rules, head gear was required and strikes to the head while on the ground were not allowed.

The controversial fight caused a huge stir when it was first announced, that the 12-year-old and seventh-grade student would compete in her first MMA bout against 24-year-old Momoko Yamazaki.

Despite being 18 years younger, eight inches taller and at least 18 kilograms heavier than her opponent, the fight was still allowed to go ahead.

It’s not the first time a Japanese MMA promotion has exhibited horribly unfair match ups.

Last year, Brazilian monster Gabi Garcia ruthlessly beat up 49-year-old Japanese former pro-wrestler Yumiko Hotta during a crazy fight for Rizin Fight Federation.
