Police arrest Las Cruces man suspected of sharing child porn
A Las Cruces man is accused of manufacturing, distributing and possessing child pornography, police said.
Police charged Larry A. Hawke, 59, of the 300 block of east Organ Avenue, with three counts of sexual exploitation of children.
Investigators learned a special agent with the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office came across information that indicated Hawke was possibly viewing, downloading and sharing child pornography.
The discovery was made in November 2016 as a result of an investigation involving the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Hawke’s residence on the morning of Wednesday, June 7, 2017 and learned Hawke is the only one who resides at the residence and the only one who knows the password to access the computer used.
Additional charges against Hawke are possible.
Hawke was arrested Thursday morning and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he’s initially being held without bond.
