Las Cruces man suspected in string of auto burglaries

The man accused of burglarizing a pickup truck is suspected in a string of auto burglaries, the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office said.

Thursday morning, A homeowner in the 500 block of Fair Park Road returned home and found a man stealing items his truck.

Officials say the victim chased the suspect – later identified as 18-year-old Patrick Darcy Rosell to an irrigation ditch while his wife called 911.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived, the victim led them to the 400 block of Fair Park Road ,where Rosell was allegedly found hiding inside a recreational vehicle.

Investigators linked Rosell to other burglaries in the area.

Rosell was arrested and charged with three counts of auto burglary, assault and burglary of a dwelling.

He is being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center on a $7,500 bond.
