Police: Passenger tried switching seats with alleged drunk driver

Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to switch seats with an alleged drunk driver.

At about 2:30 am Sunday, officers attempted to pull over the driver of a speeding vehicle on the 3100 block of East Paisano.

Police said Laura Ordonez, 22, was driving a 2015 Nissan Sentra east on Paisano.

Central officers turned their marked patrol unit around to conduct a traffic stop when they observed the Nissan stopped in the middle of the roadway.

Isaac Juarez, 27, allegedly moved from the passenger seat, around the rear of the vehicle, to the driver’s seat police said.

Juarez, who allegedly began to drive the vehicle, was pulled over by the officers.

Officers learned Ordonez was intoxicated and placed her under arrest for DWI (open container). Her bond was set at $600.

Juarez, also allegedly intoxicated, was arrested and jailed on a $750 bond. An investigation revealed Juarez had a previous conviction for DWI and he was charged with “DWI 2nd Offense.”
