Coronado volleyball ranked in top ten in 6A to begin season

The Coronado volleyball team is getting some well-deserved respect in the first coaches poll of the new season.

The Thunderbirds cracked the top ten in class 6A in the Texas Girls Coaches Association State Volleyball Preseason poll, landing at number seven.

Lewisville Hebron was the top-ranked team in the preseason poll with Houston Clear Creek and San Antonio Reagan rounding out the top three.

The T-Birds are coming off a successful campaign last year that included three playoff victories.

The team defeated Odessa Permian, Keller Central, and Arlington Lamar in the postseason before falling to Southlake Carroll in the regional semifinals.

That performance has clearly earned the Thunderbirds the respect of coaches across the state as they look to repeat last year’s success.
