CAR CHASE: EPPD officers fired at vehicle of driver who refused to pull over

El Paso Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Anthony, Texas.

EPPD reported the shooting at 7:40 a.m. It happened near the 3000 block of Mountain Pass Street.

A police spokesman told ABC-7 police officers attempted to pull over a speeding driver near I-10 and Artcraft.

The driver allegedly refused to pull over and led officers on a chase into Anthony, where he proceeded to drive onto Mountain Pass street.

At that location, the driver allegedly drove in the direction of two motorcycle police officers waiting for him in the middle of the street.

Police said one of those officers fired a round into the vehicle. The driver was not struck, but did suffer injuries as he was arrested, police said. The driver was transported to University Medical Center.
