SISD: Two threats made against Montwood High in two days

Two threats were made against Montwood High School in the last 24 hours, said district spokesman Daniel Escobar.

The first incident was reported after school Wednesday, November 1, 2017. A student reportedly found a message written on a wall stating “I am going to shoot up the school on 11/2/17.”

Police investigated the message and found nothing to substantiate the potential threat, said Escobar. The district still sent out a notice via automated phone service to all parents Wednesday night.

The second threat was reported Thursday, October 2, 2017. A social media post was reported to the administration. The image shows a boy holding what appears to be a gun with the caption “don’t go to school today.”

Authorities looked into the threat and the individual has been identified, Escobar said, adding the suspect is not a student at Montwood High. Escobar told ABC-7 the threat was addressed, but he did not know if the individual will face charges.

As a precaution, there was additional security on campus Thursday.
