Middle Tennessee runs all over UTEP 30-3
The UTEP Miners traveled to Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Saturday for a Conference USA match up against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.
The Miners entered the game at 0-8, still in search of their first win of the season, while the Blue Raiders wanted to lock up their 4th win of the season and get another step closer to bowl eligibility.
The Blue Raiders dominated UTEP on both sides of the ball handing the Miners their 9th straight loss of the season.
Final score was 30-3 in favor of Middle Tennessee.
After a field goal in the first quarter, the Blue Raiders scored 2 touchdowns in the first half to go up 17-0 at halftime.
Middle Tennessee would add another 2 touchdowns in the second half.
The Miners offense once again struggled to put up any points.
UTEP’s only points of the game came off of a 26-yard field goal by Jason Filley in the 3rd quarter.
UTEP quarterback Ryan Metz threw for only 48 yards, while running back Joshua Fields rushed for 87 yards.
Miners now have three games left this season to try and get that first win.
The 0-9 Miners head to North Texas next Saturday .
The Mean Green is 6-3 this season and is coming off a one point victory over Louisiana Tech.
