Parkland RB Deion Hankins receives offer from San Diego State
Parkland junior running back Deion Hankins confirmed Tuesday on Twitter that he has received an offer to play at San Diego State.
Hankins had previously received offers from Texas Tech, UTEP, Oklahoma State, SMU, and Utah.
San Diego State has produced a number of quality running backs in recent years. In fact, the 2016 FBS leader in rushing yards went to San Diego State (Donnel Pumphrey). And, 2017’s current leader in the category, Rashaad Penny, also calls SDSU home.
Additionally, El Dorado quarterback Cedarious Barfield has already committed to San Diego State. So, if Hankins follows, it’s possibly we could one day see an SDSU backfield comprised of two El Pasoans.
Hankins finished second in the state of Texas in rushing yards in 2016. He has been limited this season due to injury, but has still racked up impressive numbers. According to Maxpreps, Hankins has tallied more than 1,500 yards on the ground and 15 touchdowns in only six games.
