Organization raising money to bring free dental services to El Paso

Hundreds of residents will soon get the opportunity for free dental care in El Paso.

The Texas Mission of Mercy is a mobile dental clinic that travels around the state providing free basic dental care to Texans with limited resources.

With the help of the El Paso Dental Society, the Texas Mission of Mercy will be in the city April 13-14 to provide the services. The location will be announced two weeks prior.

“We understand there is a a huge need. Most of our dentists from the El Paso District Dental Society see it day in and day out,” said Rosa Sanchez, TMOM volunteer.

The last time TMOM was in El Paso was more than a decade ago and about 750 residents received dental services like cleanings, extractions and crowns.

Next year, volunteers hope to serve up to 1,000 residents.

In the meantime, TMOM has to raise at least $60,000 to make the event possible.

TMOM is hosting a fundraiser Thursday night, Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night, at Shundo Ballroom Dance Studio located at 120 Paragon Lane. The fee is $20 per person.
