Cowboys held to 6 points in home loss against Chargers

The Dallas Cowboys have now lost their last three games after falling at home Thursday to the Chargers by a final of 28-6.

The Cowboys did not score until early in the fourth quarter on a two-yard run from Rod Smith. By that point they were already down 16-6 and needed to go for two to get within one score. But the two-point conversion failed.

The Chargers went on to add two more touchdowns including a Desmond King 90-yard interception return for a touchdown to effectively seal the game.

Dak Prescott completed 20 of 27 passes for 179 yards and two interceptions. Meanwhile, Philip Rivers completed 27 of 33 passes for 434 yards and three scores to lead Los Angeles to victory.

Dallas rushed for 79 yards on 20 total carries. Rod Smith (41 yards) and Alfred Morris (36 yards) each carried the ball nine times in the absence of Ezekiel Elliott, who is still serving a six-game suspension in the wake of domestic violence accusations.

The Chargers have now won five of their last seven games after opening the season with four straight losses.

Both teams now sit at 5-6 following Thursday’s game, but the Chargers are likely happier to be there than the Cowboys.
