El Paso man allegedly tries to steal over $700 worth of goods from local Walmart

The El Paso County Sherrif’s Offices says last Saturday, December 9th, an El Paso man attempted to steal over $700 worth of goods from a local Walmart by purchasing a set of items, loading them in his car, and going back into the store, retrieving another set of the same exact items.

He tried to make it seem like he purchased those items by using the receipt from the purchase, but employees caught him in the act and called police.

Deputies arrived at the Walmart at 12200 Montana Ave. and tried to make contact with the accused offender, Anthony Vega, 25,, but he tried to flee the scene. He was caught and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for theft between $100 and $750, resisting arrest, and evading arrest.
