El Paso man wins $1 million Powerball jackpot

An El Paso man claimed a “second-tier” Powerball price worth $1 million, the Texas Lottery announced Tuesday.

Jaime Jimenez Moreno purchased the ticket at the Howdy’s gasoline station located at 1540 N. Resler in El Paso.

Moreno’s ticket for the December 13th drawing matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (2-24-28-51-58), but not the red Powerball number (7).

Powerball jackpots start at $40 million and roll until the jackpot is won. Players win the jackpot by matching five numbers from a field of 69 numbers and one Powerball number from a field of 26 numbers.
