EPPD: Woman involved in single-vehicle collision died as a result of a medical condition

Police identified the woman who died after a single-vehicle collision in El Paso’s Lower Valley as 66-year-old Rosa Ortiz.

An investigation revealed Ortiz died of a medical condition not associated with the collision, police said.

Officers responded to the collision at a residence on the 400 block of Cadwallader at 2:30pm Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

A preliminary investigation revealed Ortiz was pulling into the driveway when she drove up against the front of the home and into a rock wall, police said.

Police found Ortiz unresponsive and paramedics rushed her to Del Sol Medical Center, where she died.
