UTEP falls to North Dakota St. 63-51 in Sun Bowl Invitational final
All good things must come to an end and for the UTEP Miners it was their win streak.
UTEP fell to the North Dakota State Bison 63-51 in the championship game of the Sun Bowl Invitational.
The loss snapped a 4 game win streak for the Miners.
UTEP started off strong going up 17-8 in the first half, but then the offense struggled and the Bison would battle back to go into the half trailing the Miners 25-21.
North Dakota State would pull away late in the second half and eventually put the game out of reach.
The Bison put the finishing touches on the victory at the foul line.
They went 21-for-29 at the stripe on the night to UTEP’s 6-for-11.
UTEP’s Keith Frazier posted his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The Miners are now 5-7 on the season.
They’ll be taking a short holiday break before getting an early start to Conference USA play when they host North Texas on Thursday at 7pm.
