El Paso Police arrest man accused of sexually assaulting child

Detectives with the police department’s Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a girl.

Police charged Carlos Thurman, 70, with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

The investigation revealed Thurman raped the girl on several occasions in between August 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017.

On Thursday, January 11, 2018, Police arrested Thurman after the CAC unit obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. He was arrested on the 600 block of N. Carolina.

Thurman was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $100,000.
