EPPD: Drunk Driver struck two parked vehicles, injured pedestrian
Police officers in Central El Paso arrested an alleged drunk driver accused of crashing into two parked vehicles and injuring two people.
The wreck happened just after 6 p.m. January 13, 2018 on the 1900 block of Myrtle.
Police said an investigation revealed 54-year-old Ricardo Alvares was driving an Astro van when he struck a properly parked vehicle.
A 21-year-old man about to enter the parked vehicle was injured police said.
Alvares allegedly fled the scene, striking another parked vehicle before colliding with a raised curb, police said. At that point, the Astro van coming to a rest a short distance away.
The 21-year-old man and another victim were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Alvares, was treated for minor injuries before being booked into the El Paso County Jail.
Police charged Alvares with Intoxicated Assault and set his bond at $50,000.
