Police need help identifying suspects in Walgreens burglaries

Police need help in identifying the two men suspected of breaking into Walgreens stores in Las Cruces, Anthony, Texas and Deming early Wednesday morning.

Las Cruces police were dispatched to an alarm at the Walgreens store at 3490 Northrise Dr. at around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17. When police arrived at the scene, no suspects were located.

Police later reviewed surveillance video which showed two masked men breaking into the store and attempting to gain access to the store’s pharmacy.

The suspects were not able to gain access to the pharmacy and fled the store before police arrived on scene.

Another Walgreens store was also targeted in the same manner around the same time, but this store location was in Anthony, Texas. That store is located at 1432 Antonio St. in Anthony.

At about 3:10 a.m. that same day, the Walgreens store in Deming, N.M., at 122 N. Gold Ave., was also targeted by what appears to be the same two men.

The suspects appeared to be men wearing masks and gloves. One of the suspects was wearing a gray hoodie, while the second suspect wore a black hoodie with writing along its sleeves and a logo on the front. The suspects were believed to be driving a dark-color vehicle, possibly a Chevy Malibu.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who can help identify the suspects. Anyone with information that can help identify the suspects is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The number is operational 24-hours a day and tipsters do not have to leave a name to collect a reward.
