SISD Board votes to terminate teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student

Tuesday night, the Socorro Independent School District Board voted to terminate Pebble Hills High School teacher Gerardo Saucedo.

Police charged Saucedo with Improper Relationship between Educator and Student after officers on patrol allegedly caught Saucedo together with a student, in the backseat of a 2012 Dodge Charger.

A criminal complaint obtained by ABC-7 states police officers were checking up on businesses during a routine patrol at about 11:30 pm on November 13, 2017.

The officers noticed the Charger and another vehicle parked behind a business closed for the night. When the officers approached the Charger, they allegedly noticed Saucedo and a girl in the backseat.

Saucedo identified himself as an SISD teacher and the girl identified herself as a student in the same district, the document states. The girl allegedly told the officers she and Saucedo had been kissing and touching each other in the backseat. The girl clarified they were not having sex in the backseat, but had engaged in sexual intercourse in the past, the document states.

Under interrogation, the girl told detectives she and Saucedo started kissing in Saucedo’s classroom during her freshman year in school. They kissed at least twice per week throughout that school year, the girl allegedly said.

The girl further stated, that in October of 2017, her relationship with Saucedo developed into a sexual relationship. The girl and Saucedo allegedly had sex on two separate occasions, the criminal complaint states.

Detectives allegedly retrieved text messages between Saucedo and the girl alluding to an ongoing sexual relationship. Police arrested Saucedo November 20, 2017 and booked him into the El Paso County Jail.
