Doa Ana storage unit targeted in string of 9 burglaries

Doña Ana County Sheriffs believe a storage-unit facility in the village of Doña Ana has been targeted in a string of nine burglaries that occurred the past three months.

No suspects have been reported in the burglaries that occurred at the 5500 block of Vanegas Road, accoring to deputies.

Sheriffs said the burglaries have happened since Nov. 2 and several items, including electronics, furniture, vintage model train sets, jewelry and household items were reportedly stolen.

Victims told detectives it appeared the locks on the units had been cut, giving the suspects access inside. In some cases, a new lock had been placed on units to disguise the unauthorized entry.
