3 children die in Central Texas house fire

Three children have died after an overnight fire engulfed their Central Texas home.

Cory Harrington said he lived in the home with his nephew, his nephew’s fiancee and their three children.

He said he and his nephew’s fiancee were able to escape the 3:30 a.m. Friday fire, but the children couldn’t be rescued. He said the children were ages 6, 5 and 3 years.

Harrington’s nephew was not home at the time.

The house was fully involved in flames when fire units arrived. The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

The mother was treated for minor injuries at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen and discharged. An autopsy has been ordered to determine what killed the children.
