Aggie fans head to watch game on the big screen

While some fans couldn’t travel to San Diego to watch their Aggies play in the NCAA tournament they got to watch the game on the movie screen.

Allen Theatres Cineport 10 at the Mesilla Valley Mall handed out free tickets to watch the game Friday evening.

As fans donned their crimson Aggie T-shirts and bought snacks, they had their predictions as to how the team was going to win.

“They are going to win by 25 points. I think they are going to kick butt,” Cheryl Young said.

Others weren’t as confident for the team.

“They can win by 5 points or less,” Dough Bogart said.

Inside the theater, all the seats were filled with NMSU basketball supporters. Many enjoying the idea of getting to watch the game on the big screen.

“It’s just a fun atmosphere and it allows us to be right there with them,” said Dina Calhoun.

With some basketball analysts predicting the NMSU Aggies to win their first game, fans say win or lose they will continue to be fans of the team.

“We’re so proud of them and all of the accomplishments of the university this year and it’s fantastic to be part of it,” Calhoun said.
