ESPN: Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez temporarily suspended
The Nevada State Athletic Commission temporarily suspended Canelo Alvarez on Friday due to his two positive tests for the banned substance clenbuterol, commission executive director Bob Bennett said in a statement.
Alvarez will be required to appear at a commission hearing April 10, less than a month before he is to challenge unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin on May 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a rematch of their controversial draw in September.
