Man sentenced to 50 years in prison for murder
A man convicted of stabbing a man to death at a house party in 2015 has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office announced that Edgar Cardenas was convicted in the death of Luis Francisco Delgado and learned his sentence on May 8.
Sheriff’s officials had responded to a medical call for service at the 100 block of Dixie Canutillo on Oct. 31, 2015. Deputies learned that a fight at a house party ended with Luis Francisco Delgado being stabbed several times. Delgado was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Cardenas was later arrested and charged with murder.
He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.
