The alleged kidnaper arrested on I-10 in El Paso is accused of kidnapping a woman in Houston and repeatedly raping the woman in hotel rooms and his pickup truck, a complaint affidavit obtained by ABC-7 states.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office identified the alleged kidnaper as Mark Morris Weiss, 50. Weiss is charged with Aggravated Kidnapping.
The document states the victim told investigators Weiss walked up behind her, grabbed her and placed her inside his truck against her will. The victim told investigators she was kidnaped in Houston and raped by Weiss on several occasions inside hotel rooms and the vehicle.
The document states the victim could not provide specific locations for “the multiple sexual assaults.”
The victim told police she was “scared for her life” and suffered several bruises, dog bites and sexual assaults on numerous occasions.
At approximately 11:23 a.m. on Monday May 14, 2018, the Culberson County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Texas Department of Public Safety to ask for help locating a vehicle involved in a possible kidnapping.
Deputies said they spotted a vehicle in Van Horn believed to be involved in a kidnapping in Harris County, Texas. At approximately 12:34 p.m., a DPS aircraft located the SUV westbound on I-10 in El Paso.
Weiss was allegedly driving a Dodge four door pickup towing a trailer with a motorcycle. State police officers pulled the vehicle over on the westbound shoulder of I-10 and Cotton Street. DPS officials said the vehicle was occupied by Weiss and the victim.
The arrest on the freeway led to several lane closures and a traffic backup. A video submitted by an ABC-7 viewers shows some state troopers with their guns drawn as they surrounded Weiss’ vehicle.
Under interrogation, Weiss allegedly told police he picked up the woman in Houston, but never had sexual intercourse with her.
The Texas Rangers continue to investigate the alleged kidnapping.
