Chihuahuas beat Tacoma on the road Monday night

The El Paso Chihuahuas only needed two swings of the bat to beat the Tacoma Rainiers Monday night by a final of 4-2.

The Chihuahuas got a two-run homer courtesy of Shane Peterson in the top of the fourth to jump out to a 2-0 lead.

With the game tied at two in the eighth, Luis Urias hit another two-run blast for El Paso, giving them a 4-2 lead they would not relinquish. Both homers came with two outs in the inning.

The Chihuahuas improved to 22-23 with the win while Tacoma fell to 23-22.

The Chihuahuas seem to like being on the road. They are 14-7 away from home this year compared to just 8-16 at Southwest University Park.

El Paso only recorded five hits in the game, but it was enough to claim victory Monday night in Tacoma.

The two teams will meet three more times this week beginning Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. MT. Monday’s game was the beginning of a nine-game road trip for the Dogs.
