Film contest starts in El Paso

The El Paso Film Commission launched the Two Day Movie Challenge.

Filmmakers will be assigned a genre, then have to write, shoot and edit a movie in 48 hours.

The contest is open to anyone, including teams, but leaders must be 21.

Contestants can film in several city parks without reservations or paying fees, thanks to a partnership between the commission and the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department.

Complete details will be given at the Plaza Theater on June 8.

Movies have to be submitted on June 10 at 7 p.m.

Submissions will be screened, and prizes will be handed out at the Plaza Theater June 15.
