El Paso ISD announces new principals at Coronado High, Cooley Elementary

El Paso Independent School District has two new principals.

Longtime educator and administrator Marc Escareno has been appointed as principal at Coronado High School, the district announced Tuesday.

Escareno is currently an assistant principal at Franklin High. He has previously served as principal at Kohlberg Elementary and interim principal at both Franklin and Bowie high schools.

He also taught English and social studies at Burges High. An Air Force veteran, he has an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s from UTEP.

Elizabeth Prangner was named principal at Cooley Elementary. Prangner has nearly 30 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal and principal.

Previously, Pragner served as principal at Hart and Alta Vista elementary schools. She has taught bilingual education at schools in El Paso, Grand Prairie and Dallas. She has a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from UTEP.
