Mexican president: “Mexico will NEVER pay for a wall”

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto is maintaining that his country will not pay for the border wall.

The president’s stern tweet came as a response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments during a rally in Nashville, Tennessee, Tuesday evening.

It was there where President Trump restated his commitment that he made during the campaign to build a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico, and that Mexico will pay for it.

“Mexico — I don’t want to cause a problem. I don’t want to cause it. But, in the end, Mexico is going to pay for the wall. I’m just telling you that,” Trump said to the crowd of about 1,000 supporters. “They make all of this money and they do absolutely nothing to stop people from going through Mexico from Honduras and all these other countries, the caravan, all of this stuff, they do nothing to help us. Nothing.

“They are going to pay for the wall and they are going to enjoy it. Okay?” Trump added. “They are going to enjoy it. They do nothing for us.”

Peña Nieto tweeted at Trump last night, saying quote, “NO. Mexico will NEVER pay for a wall. Not now, not ever. Sincerely, Mexico (all of us).”

Trump was in Nashville to support Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn. She is running to replace Senator Bob Corker, who is retiring.
