UPDATE: Barricaded subject escapes during SWAT situation

UPDATE: Officials told ABC-7 that the man who had been barricaded inside a home in Northeast El Paso since early Thursday morning was nowhere to be found when SWAT team members entered the home shortly before 8 a.m.

El Paso police told ABC-7 earlier that two children were taken from the home safely.

A neighbor told our crew on the scene that a young couple moved into the home six months ago.

The neighbor said she often heard yelling and screaming coming from inside.

An armed barricaded subject is sparking a SWAT situation in Northeast El Paso Thursday morning.

Police are sending officers to the 10800 block of Quartz Street, which is south of Angora Loop Avenue, as of 4:30 a.m.

ABC-7 is sending a crew to the scene.

Look for updates on Good Morning El Paso until 7 a.m.
