TXDOT launches “Drive Clean Texas” Campaign, hopes to improve air quality

TxDOT is launching its “Drive Clean Texas” summer clean air campaign across the Lone Star State.

The Drive Clean Texas campaign was created to build awareness about the simple steps motorists can take to help reduce harmful emissions from their vehicles and contribute to improved air quality, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The campaign is asking everyone to do their part to reduce harmful vehicle emissions during the hot summer months, when ozone levels are often at their peak.

Texas has more than 20 million licensed vehicles – and a population that loves to drive. Combined with hot summers, this creates the perfect condition for poor air quality.

Steps to reduce harmful emissions include regular vehicle maintenance and changes in driving habits.

Here’s a list of TxDOT’s driving and vehicle maintenance recommendations.
