SWAT situation in south El Paso
El Paso Police confirmed the SWAT team was called out to the 1400 block Paisano Drive in south El Paso Wednesday morning, just before 8:00 a.m.
Police spokesman Enrique Carrillo said the attempted robbery happened at the Paisano Super Stop.
A man with a gun entered the store and a clerk and customer ran outside.
The suspect was seen peeking out the entrance of the store, but when SWAT members made their way inside he was not found.
A nearby adult daycare was evacuated, but occupants were allowed to re-enter just before 9:00 a.m.
Carrillo said investigators do not believe there is a danger for area residents. The scene has been cleared and streets are open again.
