Police charge man with intoxication manslaughter for deadly wreck at Railroad and Diana

Police arrested and charged a man with Intoxication Manslaughter for a deadly wreck in Northeast El Paso over the weekend.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed Jeffery Wayne Abram was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 North on the 7200 block of Railroad at about 7:27 a.m. Sunday.

At the same time, 62-year-old Ana Sandoval was driving a 2006 Ford Focus in the mandatory left turn lane north on Railroad and Diana. Police said Abram approached the intersection “at a high rate of speed and struck the rear of the 2016 Ford Focus.”

As a result of the collision, Sandoval sustained serious injuries and died at the scene, police said. Abram sustained minor injuries and was transported to University Medical Center for treatment.

Police said Abram was found to be intoxicated at the time of the collision and was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $100,000.

This is the 24th fatality in 2018 compared to 23 at this same time in 2017.
