Chihuahuas beat Fresno Monday night for sixth straight win

The El Paso Chihuahuas have now won six consecutive games after a 7-5 win over Fresno Monday night at home.

Shane Peterson went 3-4 with a home run, double, and four RBI to lead the Dogs to their 40th win of the season.

The Chihuahuas are now three games over .500 at 40-37 on the year. Fresno, which entered the night with the best record in the PCL, fell to 46-30 with the loss.

The Dogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second, but Fresno would not go down without a fight.

The Grizzlies rallied, scoring two in fourth and two more in the fifth to tie the game at five.

But Peterson would drive home two on a double in the bottom of the fifth to give El Paso the lead for good.

The two teams will meet again Tuesday at Southwest University Park with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.
