Active shooter exercise at Ysleta High Tuesday

Local and federal law enforcement agencies are hosting an active shooter exercise on Tuesday, June 26, at Ysleta High School.

Officials with Ysleta Independent School District announced the drill in a news release. YISD is asking for the community to remain calm during the drill.

The active shooter exercise is the second drill in the county in the span of a month. It’s planned in light of an increasing frequency in mass shootings at schools and public places.

Clint Independent School District hosted a similar two-hour exercise at Clint High School on May 23, five days after a deadly shooting at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas.
