El Paso ranks low on list of best Texas cities for families
El Paso was just given another All-America City award, but according to a new list, the city only ranks 83rd for the best cities for families to live in Texas.
WalletHub.com ranked 117 cities in Texas based on 21 metrics, which include number of playgrounds per capita, the violent crime rate and divorce rate.
However, El Paso fared well in categories such as “most attractions,” where it was tied for first place with the big urban areas of Houston, Austin, Dallas, Forth Worth and San Antonio.
The Sun City also ranked 15th in “family life and fun,” 63rd in “education health and safety,” 111th in “affordability” and 94th in “socioeconomic environment.”
The top five are all suburbs of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with Frisco at no. 1, followed by Allen, Southlake, Colleyville and Flowermound.
