Chihuahuas tie team record with 8th straight win Wednesday night
The El Paso Chihuahuas tied a team record with their eighth consecutive win Wednesday night.
It’s the fourth time in franchise history they have won eight in a row. The Dogs have failed in each of their previous three attempts to win a ninth game in a row.
The Chihuahuas overcame an early 3-0 deficit against the Fresno Grizzlies at Southwest University Park Wednesday, rallying for a 5-4 win.
The Dogs scored all five of their runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Shane Peterson went 2-4 with an RBI double to show for his efforts and now has seven RBI in the past three games against Fresno.
Diego Goris had a stellar night of his own Wednesday with three hits including an RBI double.
The Chihuahuas improved to 42-37 with the win while the Grizzlies fell to 46-32 after dropping their third in a row in El Paso.
The two teams will meet for the fourth and final game of their series Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. with the Chihuahuas looking to set a new franchise mark for consecutive wins.
