Groups prepare for ‘Families Belong Together’ rally this weekend

Several immigration advocate groups are coming together Thursday night to prepare for nationwide rallies this weekend in opposition of separating children from parents who are being prosecuted for crossing into the U.S. illegally.

The rally comes as the Trump Administration faces orders to reunite families within a month.

According to a release, people will make posters Thursday night at at the Border Network for Human Rights in Central El Paso at 6 p.m. The posters will be used at the “Families Belong Together” rally Saturday, June 30. Thousands of immigration advocates nationwide are set to march on that day.

Thursday’s event is being sponsored by Women’s March El Paso, Border Network for Human Rights, Las Americas, Hope Border Institute, Annunciation House, Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services, and Borderland Immigration Council.
