Cute! EPPD helps out children running refreshment stand

Officers with the police department are proving why they are El Paso’s finest.

Joshua and his cousin Nathaniel set up a Kool-Aid stand to help passersby beat Wednesday’s heat.

They got more than just a few dollars in sales once El Paso police officers and firefighters learned about the stand.

Lisa Rodriguez, Joshua’s mother, told ABC-7 that two officers stopped by the stand, bought some drinks, then offered the boys a tour of their vehicle.

Firefighters also chipped in and let the cousins check out their truck.

The officers also brought ice chests, bags of ice, bottled waters and even encouraged passing drivers to stop for some Kool-Aid, said Rodriguez.

“They have left their imprint on our children’s hearts,” Rodriguez added. “They will forever remember this.”
