Kharisma James remembered after deadly crash
Kharisma James died last Monday in a crash outside of TIppin Elementary school.
She was stuck by a car and tried to protect three children from being hit.
James lost her life, today she was remembered.
“As Kharisma’s family back in Massachusetts, including aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces, are devastated from this tragic accident, we are comforted to know she was also loved here in Texas,” said James’ Uncle Butch.
Kharisma James’ uncle spoke to dozens of community members Saturday at Christ the King Church during a vigil to remember her and pray for the three children injured in that deadly crash. James’ two children were in the crowd as the third student, Athindra Kumar, recovers in the hospital from a punctured lung. Three children James died trying to protect.
James’ coworkers, nurses from the Providence surgical team, shared how James is missing from their lives
“Her memory will remain in our hearts and we will cherish those moments dearly. Her legacy will live on through her children, family, and friends,” said one of her coworkers.
Both in and out of El Paso, Kharisma James will be remembered and missed, family and friends from across the country agreed.
“As I look around this hall, I see the love she radiated into the El Paso community. WE the James family will be forever grateful to your ofr embracing our daughter Kharisma into your lives,” her uncle said.
“Thank you Kharisma for everything you have done in our community. Rest your beautiful soul now, our friend, sister, mother, our hero, and our fellow soldier,” the same coworker said.
Kharisma’s children were at the vigil service with their father; he said the children are ok and recovering.
