Happy National Taco Day! Here’s where to get deals
Thursday is National Taco Day!
According to the website dedicated to the day (yes, there is a website just for National Taco Day), last year Americans ate over 4.5 billion tacos. The dedicated researchers behind the website estimated that comes out to 490,000 miles of tacos, which could take you to the moon and back or, at 775-million pounds, equals the weight of two Empire State Buildings.
According to its website, Kiki’s Mexican Restaurant in Central El Paso is offering a lunch special of two chicken tacos for $6.55
The Facebook page for Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey’s posted a celebratory picture, but made no mention of specials.
There are deals happening at national and regional chain restaurants with locations in El Paso. Be sure to call ahead to make sure the offers are available:
TACO CABANA: Get a free shredded chicken or ground beef taco with the code 290. The guest must show coupon code to cashier. One taco per guest, per visit, per transaction. Taco offer valid from 3 – midnight only.
CHUY’S: Add a crispy beef taco to any order for $1. Dressing up as a taco and posting a picture on social media with #NationalTacoDay will score participants a free meal.
TACO BELL: Participating locations offer a $5 “National Taco Day Gift Set,” which includes four tacos, including the Crunchy Taco, Fiery, Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos
EL POLLO LOCO: Participating locations are offering a free chicken taco al carbon, plus the chance to enter a contest that could net participants a limited-edition taco shirt, as well as free tacos for an entire year.
MOE’S SOUTHWEST GRILL: From Thursday to Sunday, member of the company’s loyalty program can get a free taco when they purchase two.
RED ROBIN (Las Cruces): The chain is offering a limited-time offer on the Taco Tavern Double with Bottomless Steak Fries for $6.99.
