Man struck twice in fatal Loop 375 crash identified

Special Traffic Investigators were called out to a collision that occurred at Loop 375 East at Milepost #54 early Monday morning that resulted in the death of 33-year-old Aaron Carrillo.

According to police reports, Carrillo was operating a 2004 Dodge Ram and ran out of gas. His vehicle was disabled in the traffic lanes of Loop 375. A short time later 34-year-old Isaac Lujan was traveling eastbound in his 2003 Ford Taurus on Loop 375 when he struck Carrillo, who is believed to have been standing in the roadway.

Carrillo was then struck a second time by a 2006 Jeep Cherokee which was also traveling eastbound on Loop 375.

Carrillo died from his injures at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been created by the family for help with funeral expenses.

Pedestrian in the roadway is the primary factor in this fatality. This is the 49th fatality in 2018 compared to 38 at this time in 2017.
