UTEP giving away 1,000 number 88 jerseys at the next football game
UTEP will be giving away 1000 number 88 jerseys to the first 1000 fans to the next home game.
The Miners will be playing the Mean Green of North Texas next Saturday at the Sun Bowl.
The number 88 on the jersey commemorates the season the Miners won ten games in a single season.
The Miners played against the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles in the Independence Bowl that year.
Former athletic director Bob Stull was the head coach during that game.
The Miners lost the game 38-18.
