Tonight’s Mega Millions Jackpot hits $1 Billion

You could become America’s next billionaire, if you play and win Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing.

The jackpot has grown to one billion dollars. It is the largest Mega Millions jackpot in history, but not the largest jackpot in the U.S.

According to USA today, that distinction goes to the Powerball jackpot of $1.6 billion dollars from the January 2016 drawing.

Friday night’s jackpot grew after no one picked all the winning numbers Tuesday night.

There was one winner Tuesday night. A lottery player received $1.9 million dollars after matching five of the six total numbers correctly.

Before you start planning on what your newly acquired billion-dollar prize will buy, know the odds of winning, according to USA today, are one in 302,575,350 chances.

So there is a chance.

If you’re finding it hard to walk out into chilly weather to buy your ticket, it may be good to know people living in Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina and North Dakota can buy their tickets online.

If you need more motivation to walk out the door and to a business with Mega Million ticket sales, know that all you need to win is hope, luck and two bucks.
