LCPD: Man arrested after burglarizing vehicle inside of industrial yard

Las Cruces police arrested a man on Saturday suspected of breaking through a chain-link fence to burglarize a vehicle.

Charles K. Inglis Jr., 42 was charged with one count of burglary of a vehicle and one count of criminal damage to property following an incident on Aug. 15.

According to investigators, surveillance videos from an industrial yard on the 2300 block of Westgate Court show a man climbing into a work truck and rummaging through various compartments for items.

Footage shows a man removing a hand dolly from the truck, which investigators later found near the breached fence.

Repairs to the fence are estimated to cost more than $1,200.

Police determined the man in the video matched the same description as Inglis, who police say often frequents the area and wears the same clothes as in the video.

Inglis was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center on Oct. 20 and was released on Oct. 22.
