As people throughout the state of Texas and America line up to cast their votes in the 2018 midterm elections, some voters are already facing some issues at their voting stations.

ABC Houston affiliate KTRK-TV reports of a confrontation that turned physical between a voter and an assistant election judge in Harrison County polling location on Tuesday.

According to KTRK, assistant election judge Juanita Barnes was issued a citation for assault by contact after she allegedly bumped into a female voter during an argument.

The alleged altercation broke out at a northwest Harris County polling location on the 10300 block of Veterans Memorial Drive.

A voter that was at the scene of the incident told KTRK a verbal altercation began between Barnes and a voter, where Barnes allegedly made racist comments about blackface and threatened the voter.

At this point, investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office say the confrontation between Barnes and the voter became physical after the poll worker bumped the voter.
