One dead, two wounded after shooting in Northeast El Paso

One person is dead, and another two wounded, after a shooting near Magoffin Middle School in Northeast El Paso, police said.

The shooting was reported shortly before 4 p.m. on the 8300 block of Signal Peak Place, just north of Hercules.

El Paso Police spokesman Sgt. Robert Gomez said a 58-year-old man is dead. The man’s 58-year-old wife and 24-year-old son were both shot and taken to the hospital. Gomez said the three victims are related.

Gomez said police do have a suspect, but no arrests have been made. Gomez added the suspect is not a threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing and Crimes Against Persons Detectives are assisting in the investigation.
